Mexico Trip Pictures - Jan 21-29, 2011

These are pictures from the Caravan Mexico: Ancient and Colonial Cities trip beginning in Mexico City and ending in Cancun. If you missed pictures of a particular location or event, please feel free to download these (info below).

Near the end of the Day 8 group of pictures are the final dinner pictures of each of the tables, taken at our banquet meal. Also, there are maps of the travels of each day at the end of the Day 9 group of pictures, which may give you a good idea of roads, etc.

Let me begin by stating that I'm in no way a really good photographer but did want to capture a few pictures for the nice memories from the trip. The really bad shots have been culled from the group. Taking pictures from a bus is problematic because of the reflections caused by the windows, as well as dirt and residue on the windows. Nevertheless, many are included since we had very few photo stops on the way. Some of my low light shots deserved a tripod and tend to be a bit blurry. I've included some of these since I had no better ones to remember that particular event. So my apologies to the purists among us.

Amazingly, the ruins begin to run together after returning home, so some of the comments may not be totally correct and I simply couldn't remember all I saw. If you have corrections or additions please send them to me for the comments are very easy to change.

These were taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 which offers an optical zoom of 10x. I was shooting with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a picture size of 5 meg maximum, even though the camera will go to 7 meg. This will allow more storage on the memory card and makes not much difference since I am not planning to print many of these pictures.

I've arranged the pictures by the days, as depicted in our Caravan travel booklet, but have combined day 1 and 2 since we really didn't do any sightseeing on day 1. Two days were broken into two parts because of the many pictures in those groups.

Click on menu item to get a page of small pics. Clicking on a small pic will give the larger view with caption and file name. White arrows to left and right for backward or forward in list. A link for small pics at upper left will get you back to that page.

By left clicking on the larger picture with caption, you will see the full-sized image and clicking on browser back arrow will revert to the picture with caption.

Using a right click on the larger picture with caption will enable you to download the full size picture.
